Can anyone tell me if its worth going up Lygon street to check out the shops? Is there much clothing stores there?

I would probably stick to Melb CBD.
There are a few stores, like Country Road, Witchery, Sportsgirl, and some other chain stores. There's also a store called 'To The Max' which sells somewhat more designer clothes like s&b and ...such. I can't remember the other brands. But it's near the Elgin St end of Lygon St.
It's an okay place to shop if you happen to be there, but I wouldn't go out of my way.

I wouldn't bother going there just for clothes shopping, everything you can get there you can also get in the city. Unless you head there for some shopping after a delicious lunch.
