Sydney gal in Melbourne

Question
There may already be a thread on this, but I'm in Melbourne for a few days, and want to know where to find some great shopping! I've been to melb a few times, and know the obvious places (chapel st, bourke st, etc) but I want to find some funky little gems (such as Fat, one of my favourite shops ever until it closed down in sydney... thank god melbourne has three!). So melb girls, please share your wisdom!

Answer
You can find Fat in Chadstone and GPO (I only know two out of the three!) I'm not entirely the funkiest shopper ever but I hope that helps!

Answer
Thanks! I think the third is on brunswick st... their website says borke st, brunswick st, and chapel st (of course!).

Answer
You're welcome ebony_frost! Sorry that I'm not much help...it would be great if you could reveal a little more about what you're looking for!

Answer
Hi!
You may already know these places, but there is bridge road in richmond which is pretty good and smith st in collingwood has lots of factory outlets. Hope that helps!

Answer
Brunswick st has some nice shopping, I like going to the store called 'liquid'. Alot of designer items and normally quite a few sales.
Cactus Jam is also good, and alot of those around QV in the city centre on lonsdale st.

Answer
I am in Melb at the moment too.
I Fat! They are in GPO, Chadstone, Chapel St, and Brunswick St
I like the City for shopping. I am checking out the DFO at Spencer St today, so dunno if it is any good or not. Chapel St and Greville St (off Chapel) are great. Otherwise Bridge Rd, Smith St, Brunswick St etc... but these are all the usual places, I don't know where the "hidden gems" are!

Have you checked out Lush? It's quite close to the Fat on Brunswick St, but on the other side of the road (I think there's one on Chapel St too?)
Also check out the city-end of Sydney Road - there's some great little stores there, and just off it, including some stocking small, off-beat Melbourne designers.
The Cat's Miaow, in the Flinders St Underpass (there's another great shop in there, too)
Victoria Street, up from the market, the strip where it meets Errol Street - there's a few great stores there, and a great hot chocolate shop called Fraus - the sisters that opened it up are lovely, and were amongst the first to introduce serious hot chocolate to Melbourne when they returned from backpacking thru Europe.
