To Mr Narendra, Insurance agent

Question
Hello sir,
Your advice about visitor insurance has been valuable in the past.
Thanks. Can you also tell me about health insurance for workers on H-1b
and H2b visas. Is the employer obligated to provide health insurance for
H-1b and H-2b? or do they have to get their own? And is it regular
insurance that the Permanent residents/citizens get or are there any
restrictions?
thanks

Answer
Employers are NOT obligated to provide health insurance to their employees, even if they are on H1.
What type of insurance you can get really depends upon whether you are looking for short term or long term insurance, what type of benefits you are looking for (such as maternity) etc, which state you are in, how long you have been in US, the price you are willing to pay and so on.
You can look at long term plans at http://www.buyamericaninsurance.com/...l/longterm.jsp
and short term plans at http://www.buyamericaninsurance.com/.../shortterm.jsp
It would be best if you can call us at 1-866-INSU-BUY so that we can discuss above details and offer you most suitable insurance plan.
