Has anyone ever had the experience of using HDFC Chubb visitors insurance while coming from India? I wanted to know how it is...any suggestions would be welcome.

Never heard of that before.
So many new players coming up in the market that it is difficult to keep track of all of them.
Better to go with some established companies. Look at http://www.buyamericaninsurance.com/visitor.jsp to buy insurance from US companies and look at http://www.buyamericaninsurance.com/guide/index.jsp why it is better to buy from US company.

You need to call International SOS on 91 11 51898872 who will assist you to facilitate your claim.
* How do my family members claim under the Personal Accident provision in the event of an eventuality?
Kindly call the SOS and they will assist you with the formalities.
* Can I make a claim while I am overseas or do I wait until my return to India?
You may call the SOS number who will help you fulfill all the formalities.
You can make claims overseas in case of an emergency medical expense. These claims can be settled by SOS international - our service provider. All other claims will be settled in India.

The phone number that they are providing is in New Delhi, India. Please call the doctors and hospitals in your area whether they would be willing to call the insurance company in New Delhi and bill them directly. If yes, well and good. Otherwise, you will have to first pay and make a claim, no matter how large the claim is.
